Condolences

To all my cousins and grandkids and families of my Uncle Jimmy so at a loss of words but how to say goodbye to my Yncle Jimmy. He was so welcoming to my two boys and myself. Jim and Mary, Chris and Terry always make time to greet and visit and a place to stay and always felt the peace in Clarion from a crazy world. I'm so sad today but my heart fighting that because my heart only smiles when thinking of my uncle. Love one of Merle's girls.

I am Steven Howieson’s (Nephew of Jimmy) daughter. The first time I remember meeting Uncle Jimmy was the summer of 1995. My parents took my brother and I on a road trip and as we drove into Clarion the tire shop was our first stop. My parents told my brother and I to walk into the tire shop asking for help with something. As soon as we walked in Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Mary immediately knew who we were and they were so excited to see us. We had a wonderful visit, it was the week of the Teddy Bear Reunion. My brother and I were so intrigued with Uncle Jimmy’s basement as we didn’t have one at home being from Southern California. We were so excited to sleep down in the basement and a little nervous at the same time. Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Mary made us feel so welcome and even though I was only 11 I still have such vivid fond memories of that first trip. Since then my parents have visited countless times, my dad went hunting and Uncle Jimmy always took good care of them and made them feel at home. When Uncle Jimmy visited us in 2019, we took him to see the USS Iowa and I remember how excited he was to see it. I always thought it was so cool he got to see it for free because he was a resident of the state of Iowa. We miss you Uncle Jimmy, until the day we get to see you again in heaven. Sending lots of love from California.
