Patti Jo (Wilson) Noethe, daughter of Arnold and Adelaide (Harms) Wilson, was born on November 10, 1947, in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She spent most of her childhood in Minnesota and South Dakota, graduating from Estelline High School in South Dakota with the Class of 1965. Patti continued her education at Watertown Business University in Watertown, South Dakota.
In 1967, Patti married Michael Fitting in Sleepy Eye. One daughter, Michelle, was born to this union. The couple later divorced, and Patti and Michelle moved to Sanborn, Iowa, to be closer to family. While living in Sanborn, Patti was employed at Sanborn Savings Bank.
Patti married Reggie Kroese in 1969 in Canton, South Dakota. Together they had three daughters: Pamela, Amy, and Merri Jo. The family made their home in Sanborn until Reggie’s passing in 1977.
On July 22, 1978, Patti married, her soulmate, John “Jack” Noethe, in Sanborn, Iowa, adding one more daughter, Jolyn, to their family. Later, they moved to Britt, Iowa, with all their children, where they settled permanently. In 1991, Jack and Patti turned their hobby of raising dogs into a full-time business, founding Oleo Acres Kennels. As wholesale pet distributors, they purchased puppies throughout the Midwest and resold them to pet stores across the United States.
Patti was a proud founding member and past Membership Secretary of the Iowa Pet Breeders Association. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and bowled for several years in the Britt Bowlerettes League.
Throughout her life, Patti held various jobs outside the home, but she took the greatest pride in raising her five daughters, and later in life, her two grandchildren, John and Korrina. She was an avid reader and enjoyed computer and board games, especially Scrabble. Patti loved camping, traveling, cake decorating, and collecting LP records. Music and dancing brought her great joy. Her happiest moments were spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Patti will be deeply missed for her quick wit, generosity, and sharp sense of humor.
Patti is survived by her daughters: Pamela (Kroese) Subject of Britt, Amy (Kroese) and husband, Michael Larson of Britt, Merri Jo (Kroese) Fransen, and Jolyn Noethe and husband, Richard Kirk of Britt; one brother Joel and wife, Linda Gibbons of Sanborn; sister-in-law Mary Gibbons of Sanborn; six grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Jack Noethe and Reggie Kroese; daughter Michelle Fitting, sisters Linda Wilson, Jan Pennings, Wendy Wilson, and Barbara Nilles, and brother Daniel Gibbons.
