Condolences

Pictured:Miss Joyce reading to Georgia. Joyce was so loving and generous. She was our favorite librarian that became a beautiful friend. My 8 year old daughter loved visiting her each week. We miss her greatly.

Aunt Joyce's gentle spirit and gracious ways left a lasting impression, brightening every moment we shared. Her warmth touched my heart, creating bonds that time cannot erase, and her legacy lives on in those simple, loving connections. Though I didn't know Aunt Joyce for very long, what I knew of her revealed a woman full of warmth, grace, and joy in conversation. I loved our phone chats and time spent talking with her, and I'll miss her dearly. Heavenly Father, surround this family with your comfort, heal our hearts, and let Aunt Joyce's grace inspire us until we meet again. In Jesus' name, Amen. With deepest sympathy and prayers.

Xxxxxxx, Thank you for the condolences. I'm glad you were able to build a relationship with joyce. She loved her connections with the island and back east. That you became part of that thread gives me a glimmer of satisfaction. I don't mourn Joyce's passing with the same flavor one comes to expect to be attached to a death in the family. Especially a sibling. Having lost both of my parents while they were quite young and even now being one of the two remaining siblings, I have developed a quiet confidence that death is not an end but a means to an end. Though I don't call from the rooftops the strength of my faith, I have a quiet yet strong relationship with God the father. I no longer chase death but I am very comfortable in facing it. Feeling that it is through physical death that we are reassured that our purpose of life has been reached. I have lived a very colorful life, I have faced death more times than I can easily recall. Throughout those insurmountable times, I have not only been spared, but have come through to a deeper appreciation and trust in God's plan. When my time finally does come, I will be able to face it with the same peace and confidence that I apply to watching the passing of those who I hold dear. Joyce also has a strong faith in God's plan. That faith is a major part of her decision to forego the fanatical pursuit of "just one more day" in her battle with illness. I fully respect and admire her decision. Each of my siblings passed on thier own terms. They held onto life just long enough to put thier earthly affairs in order. I respect that. Once again, thank you for the condolences. I would ask though that you look deeper at her passing and realize that this is not a call for sadness and loss but pride in fulfillment. Peace
